St. Joe 5/4 Topwater
The big trout did finally wake up this weekend in St Joe(chug bug). I caught 6 +20" and a few ~18". Great trip but even with those fish it seemed real random as to where. It was a lot of work (I am in a kayak). Nothing on the CT -which usually seems to be the case over there. One 24" was added to my top 10 list in strike & fight -can't quit thinking about it. 1 good topwater is worth at least 5 on jigs.
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
I've been fishing out of a kayak for about two years now and it's taught me a whole lot about fishing -and I've been obsessed for a real long time. Your range is limited in a kayak so you have to figure out how to catch fish where where you are. You know they're there.
What I didn't put in my original post was how I went out the day before and shouldn't have. The wind was up, got worse, and I surfed back. That's really not fun and I was fortunate to get back right side up. I should of known better. The next morning was flat so I sold my soul to my wife & kids (again) and had a great trip.
