Bass fishing tactics for trout and red fish?

Post by Tennessee »

Just curious, has anyone ever used a Texas rigged 9 to 10 inch worm or senko to catch redfish or trout. Other examples creature baits, jerk baits, buzz baits, pig and jig, carolina rigs, and so on.

You may hear back from Jumptrout51 on this subject. Most anything that'l hook a crab trap works for him :o
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

HAHAHA SR, most anything that will catch a Bass, will also catch a Red or Trout  the hardware is not made to withstand the harsh saltwater affects and will rush up on ya fairly quick though

Things like senkos or worms will work. I've found that senkos aren't very tough, so trash fish tear them apart without much effort.

most anything that will work on the one works on the other.

one of my favorites is the 3x soft baits the new stuff it is not regular plastic very stretchy and scent impregnated let it sink into the grass and snap it out I also love floating rattletraps and spinnirbaits. you also can texas rig any grub out there.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

SR was correct. You are hearing from me.
Wevans is correct also. Anything made will catch the fish in question. The main thing is to use anything you have faith in. Use it consistently and you will catch your target species.
TyOneOn will testify to this. He regularly fishes from bait in his shirt pocket and catches amazing stringers repeatedly.
Of course my stringers are more amazing.

BUZZ BAITS FOR TROUT

Post by FUTCHCAIRO »

I HAVE CAUGHT QUITE A FEW LARGE TROUT USING A BASS BUZZ BAIT, JUS RIP IT ACROSS THE TOP OF THE WATER AND IF TROUT ARE THERE THEY WILL HIT IT. NEVER CAUGHT A RED ON IT BUT HAVE CAUGHT SOME SMALL GROUPER ON THE FLATS WITH IT, I USE THE CHARTRUSE SKIRT IT SEEMS TO DRAW MORE STRIKES THAT ANY OTHER COLOR THAT I HAVE TRIED. CAROLINA RIGS WITH ABOUT 18" LEADER AND GLOW FLUKES WORK GREAT AT CERTAIN TIME OF THE YEAR, FOR TROUT AND REDS.
COME ON DOWN AND GIVE IT A TRY.

This is interesting information, I will definatly try some different baits when I get down there this time. The main baits I have used while fishing salt so far have been mainly limited to Gulp shrimp, or minnow, both white in color, and gold spoons. I have had a lot of success with those baits, but I did catch two flounder on a 3/8 ounce spinner bait.

I used to catch plenty of trout and reds on buzzbaits but they get kinda expensive. A baby 1 minus is deadly on trout and reds. A 10 inch plastic worm rigged carolina style will catch the mess out of grouper.
