St Marks 11/2 Rise

Post by Reel Slow »

Took the day off and took a buddy out to St. Marks for a morning (actually the guy that sold me my boat). Had to be home by 2.

Well, fished the same area that produced a bunch of reds 2 weeks ago, and we fished several miles of it, and only found 4 pups. Did hook into some nice trout and landed a 21" trout about the girth of Rosie O'donnell, man that thing was round. Had one trout nail my topwater arching 2' out of the water with skitterwalk enhaled - but she got off.....go figure....

Finally thought about changing up and trying a crick, and found a good couple schools. We boated 11 or 12 reds to 26" all but 2 in the slot. My buddy nailed the largest red which was good.

Visited with TC on the way out and headed to the hill. A slow start but we finally found em..... :D
