I awoke around 8:00 this morning (which is really late for me) to blue bird skies and a light wind out of the north....I couldn't resist the temptation even though I knew it was post front condition (not conducive to fish catching), the IFA Championship was Friday and Saturday...I knew it would be tough, but do you like catching or fishing...Today I liked fishing

I went to two spots I like to fish real close and tight to the bank..water was so low the closest I could get was 150 - 200 yards :o ....Went to another bank and found some bait and water....Had three strikes two on topwater, fish came out of the water on both bites, but no dice.....Hooked another on a spoon, it peeled drag for about 10 yards and threw the spoon back at me :smt013 I had one shot at sight casting, fish was quartering away, instead of doing a wrist cast, I did the over head flip and the fish picked up my motion and left at Mach 3 :smt010

Three hours of fishing and three bites...fish were super spooky, had several fish waking towards me and would do a 180 at 30 yards.

I spoke with Capt Ron Schurr this afternoon, he fished the IFA Championship and said the whole field of competitors were comparing the redfishing in St. Andrews to Louisiana. From what he told me several of the top ten teams fished some of my spots.

Another great day on the pond, can't wait to do it again

Thanks for the report. Glad you got out there.

My son wanted to go but it was still pretty windy over here most of the day. Stayed home and did a little boat maintenance.

Good deal Chalk. It had to be more fun than that game last night.
