Ochlockonee 11-12-06

Post by tin can »

Today was a much tougher day than Thursday. It was cold, windy, and post front.

The tide was as high as it was gonna get and the water was dead still when we launched this morning. I headed for some pads I've been successful fishing in the past. I have to thank Wevans for reminding me about the pads. Second cast----WHAM! I had to remind my self this was a bass tournament. Redfish don't count. Caught 3 reds out of the pads, but no keeper bass. When the tide started falling I moved to the first of 3 spots that produced Thursday. 2 short bass and a half dozen more reds. Moved on to spot 2. 30 minutes there produced nothing but reds. Relocated 500 feet and finally boated my first keeper bass at 1000. By noon I had my limit.

I needed to finish at least third, with a limit of fish to clench 3rd place for the year. I had the only limit of fish, and managed a win today.
What was I supposed to do today?

Win a bass tourney and load the boat with reds in the same day...that's a pretty fine day.
