Adjusting Stretch lures

Post by rx fisher »

Had my first success at trolling for grouper with the stretch lures.
Pretty crazy stuff, used 25 and 30, after about 3 hits on the 25+
they would not stay down. Any info on how to bring back to top shape
again.

Thanks

That is an easy one. Check the eyes where the hooks connect up to the lure body. What happens is they get bent to the left or right, and will cause the lure to "spin" in the water and hop in and out of the water.

Make sure the eyes are dead in line with the body of the lure.....

Good response DT. Might be a good entry into the tips and tricks category  :D
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

I'll give that a try, when I got home I looked and sure enough the lure had a loosened eye that was out of whack.

I'll let you know next time I'm out.
