That's a GREAT fish. :D Did you fish towards Suwannee, Keaton, or just straight out from Horseshoe? Close in ... further off... What were you throwing, live bait, shrimp, plastic?
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

Sir Reel, we fished towards Keaton about half way between Horseshoe and Pepperfish all the big tout came from in close @ 50yrds and into the grass. We had other people with us as well but the day I caught the big one I was fishing with my Grandad and we actually tied up to an old fence post that marks an oyster bar. I think we stayed tied to the post for about 45min. I was throwing a new penny Gulp under a cajun thunder and had caught 4 or 5 reds while we were tied up. i was casting across the oyster bar into the creek chanel, I thought it was another red at first until i saw it come to the top. That same day I caught a 24" in the morning and about an hour or so after I caught the big one I caught a 26" all on the same gulp. Hope that helps.
