Had a fishing partner pull a no-show, so I went it alone today for the first time. The peace and quiet was very refreshing and makes me wonder why I always take someone with me. Anyway, arrived at the lighthouse around 9:30AM to low water conditions. Eased out of the channel expecting to get blown away, but things were not all that bad. Went east and started exploring. There was not enough water until about 12:00 to really get where I wanted to go. End up in the back of Stoney about 12:15 and the redfish were there, but a little slow to bite. Water was much clearer than I expected and fish were rather spooky. Ended up going with a gulp shrimp on 1/16 oz jig for the most stealthy presentation. It paid off with a couple of nice reds. The water turned fast with the wind blowing and had to ease out by around 2:00. The afternoon ended up being beautiful.
