Opiniions needed

Post by Redbelly »

I am at the doorstep of bartering for a tunnel hull Scandy White aluminum boat. It has a poling platform, rigged removable. Rear seat stick steering.

On the bottom there a few barnacles and some "wormy" shaped deposits .
The present owner had it in the water at his place up Spring Creek and found out about the spring stopping about 6 weeks after the fact. The boat sat there all that time, till he removed it. It has been dry since.

The motor was not run in the salt water, but run when it was fresh to the dock.
It is a 40 yammy 4 stroke with about 15 hrs. It is the 2nd motor on this boat. He had a 70 before and it was scary he said.
This boat has hydraulic jackpklate T&T.

I could fish outa this machine. :D

How much should it be worth? :-?

What year model is the boat and motor?

If there are barnicles and wormy deposits, it's been sitting in salt water for a while. I would want the bottom cleaned and a look at how bad it's corroded/pitted. If it's significant, it won't be long before it corrodes through, and leaks. I don't know how you would repair that condition.
What was I supposed to do today?

The boat is only worth the price of the motor.
