Lake Seminole to Apalach

Post by Barhopr »

Some good friends of mine made the trip down from the Lake to Apalach last week and had some really good stories and pictures of the trip. Heres one of a nice Red that the owner of Wingates Marina caught in Apalach near the bridge on what appears to be a Zebco. They report that Smokey( thats the big guy in the picture that owns Wingates) stayed mad the whole time because he could never catch a fish that was legal........They were all over 27". They left Seminole on Thurs. and came back on Mon. Heck of a fun trip if you've never done it.

I agree. pull a few skiffs/yaks behind the mother ships. Do the fresh/salt slam....cats,bass,stripers one day and reds, flounders and trout the next.

I made the trip several years ago. 13 boats in all. Some put in at Chattahoochee and we put in at Bristol. Didn't fish just took breaks on the bars. River was a little low at the time. Stayed at the Breakaway (now condo's) in Appalach and returned to Bristol next day. Nice trip,, from Bristol 80+ miles.
