Went out Sat. for a little bottom fishing on some public numbers. Using squid and Spanish sardines immediately caught four red snapper, two nice ones and two other keepers, which of course we had to release. Caught a couple of amberjacks(cuda got one) and then the action was interrupted when a huge Manta Ray played on the surface for a few minutes. All the while bait was showering around us. We threw some spoons and nothing with a fast retrieve. We tried letting them just flutter toward the bottom and wham. We boated about fifteen kings and a few big Spanish. Fast action and plenty of fun. Left um biting. Didn't bottom fish anymore and headed in around two. A great day offshore! They've been few and far between lately!
People that catch a lot of fish fish a lot!
