Riptide Problem?

I have a 12 volt riptide that had been performing without a problem. Friday on the flats it would run fine in 1-3, but on high it would run stop, run stop. What should I check first? Any suggestions?

I would guess the switch. Pull the cover and bypass the switch and see what happens.
What was I supposed to do today?
