Full Moon = Big Bucks

Post by Saltwater4me »

Just trying to keep the hunting reports up so bman can keep lobbying for a hunting thread. Anyway, after lots of work and worry to better our deer herd for the past five years, I finally cashed in on a good one this afternoon. Our farm is in Jefferson Co. and good genetics are hard to come by. It was really neat becasue I had trail cam pictures of the deer about a month ago. I thought he left when the rut started, but apparently he came back. I have already gotten tired of cleaning deer this year so I dropped him by Hubbards and was shocked at the bucks he had from tonight. They were definatley on the move. Hubbards had several giants waiting to be processed when I got there and it made mine shrink a little (hate it when that happens). Back to the fishing tomorrow :-D

Sweet Buck!
Love the fact you got it on the cam first. Makes it feel like hunting.

This is the off week in the duck season. So I'm scouting on Thursday for Saturday AM. May get out for some snipe one afternoon this week.

I sat up at our property in Jefferson County yesterday and all I saw was coons and armadillos :x Of course there was the usual army of 743 squirrels that barked at me most of the morning. I've seen a few small bucks and numerous does (shot one 2 weeks ago at the beginning of doe week). What part of Jefferson is your farm??? I've wanted to hunt the area hard this week, just work hasn't permitted me to go much. After seeing that buck though, I might have to make time. Nice one
