Good Deal.......

Post by sundown »

Late one afternoon sometimes back at St Marks I caught a pretty good trout on a skitterwalk..When I got it to the boat something looked funny. The front treble had pulled away from the plug and the fish was hooked on the rear. The wire was broken inside the plug. I got home and looked at another skitterwalk I also used. It had a split about an inch long near the tail.
I sent an email to Rapala and immediately they replied. Told me to send the lures back to the service dept. I got around to it about a week or so ago. Got in this afternoon and had two new plugs, right color and all.....
I can't say for sure what caused the problem to the plugs. May have been rough use, a defect or whatever..I do know that the manufacturer wasted no time replacing them..This sure made a good impression with me.. A fine company that backs their products !

I've had several Skitterwalks do the same thing. Should've sent them back but didn't.

I love the action of the skitterwalks but I believe Mirrolures are better made.

I like that skitterwalk weight and action too...I also fish Top Dogs and She Dogs . They are built tougher.. I use the saltwater zara spook a lot too....Another year and I expect topwaters are what I'll use the most. Don't catch as many fish but sure aint all the time unhooking a 14" fish either. What you catch is usually a decent fish. Plus, topwaters work just as well in the middle of the day as anything else. esp if there's a little chop.
