If you anchor or drift in a navigation zone you do so at risk. Anyone with local knowledge knows you have to enter and leave that river(creek) on plane.
Those without local knowledge should gain it by what they see going on around them. Otherwise, stay home or keep your birds in a cage.
I have left that ramp going out on low water and passed no less than 18-20 boats sitting on the bottom many times. Had I slowed down I too would have been sitting on the bottom.
On the other hand, when you are trailing another boat of unknown occupants(not in your party) you should keep your distance. You don't know what their intentions are and they do not know yours.

Same problem when we are on Jetskis. We used to slow and idle by fishermen, but found out that staying on plane actually produced only maybe a 3 inch wake, while slowing down made a much larger one. Of course, we still are A$$holes either way we do it, so whatever.

And then there are the times when we were sitting talking on the skis, and the bass boats came by doing 80 gazillion MPH..... I would rather ride out the plane wake than the one caused by slowing down in most cases.

LOL I agree with Chalk on those SeaRays. I passed one in the ICW channel one time (45 footer) between PC and Destin. Man that guy put me airborne fast! Of course, I ain't seen a 45 foot SeaRay at Anky. (Maybe they don't like the area)

I can say it wasn't me, and I didn't have anything to do with it. I didn't even have my boat in the water... :-D
