New Year's Day hunting...

Post by Browning Slayer »

Well, I took my 6 year old hunting this morning with his new 410 shotgun which he can't shut-up about. Didn't care what the weather man said and had an AWESOME day!! 10 to 20 mph winds and not a single squirell barking. Had to work today and finally had the final payout. We had a small grey which we shot (twice) and it ran into a nest and we lost. Here's a pic of a nice Black fox squirell just as we parked the truck (in the fork of the tree) and a pic of a muddy truck which my son just loved getting dirty.. Said it was like being in the "Dukes of Hazzard" as we were sliding in the mud.. Needless to say the fox squirell had his last day of life and the day ended well for us.. That was the last stop of the day and we didn't have to go far from the truck to get it.. Pulled in and there he was.. :D Got the pic and we grabbed the guns and chased it across the field until we ran it up another tree. My boy's first fox squirell..
