Greenbone invited BobbyB and I to join him to an undisclosed location to go redfishing today. Forecast called for 39 degrees and mid-morning low tide. Slept in and met up with both partners and headed South.
Fortunately it wasn't the low forecasted but it was a little cool skimming across the water in the Greenbone at 40+ and soon started fishing for the up till now elusive prey. We fished and fished and fished - I thought my presence cursed the others on the greenbone. Tide didn't look like it wanted to come back in for some reason and we tried several stretches of good looking water.
Finally around 2:00 I felt a tap and I thought it must be a trout but when it picked it up again I knew it didn't act like no trout. Here is my official 1st redfish:
BobbyB hadn't fished very often so we tried and tried to get him and greenbone one too but the only other bite/fish we had was an undersized flounder.
The weather turned out beautifully - not too much breeze but still chilly when it did blow. We saw three deer early on, company was great, felt special for such a good January day.
Oh... The memories... The first time I... uhh.... landed a RedHead.... She was the best fight'n fish I ever had... Oh, I mean Redfish! You Caught you're 1st RED! Congrats man!!! I still remember my 1st time..
If there's not a life after fishing, I don't want to live it.....
