Post by Reel Cowboy »

Coming from Thomasville, how is the best way to get the Light House and launch? I know the obious way is to drive, but what roads is the better question I guess. Thanks for your time and input. RC

RC, if you're coming early, go right through Tallahassee on 319. Keep going south until you get to the intersection of 319 and 267, about 8 miles south of Woodville. Turn left on 267, at the caution light. Go about 4 miles to US 98. Turn left onto 98. Go across the bridge and turn right . You'll see the sign for the refuge.
What was I supposed to do today?

Watch your tides, this time of year it can be a little shallow at low tide.

To avoid traffic you can go through Monticello, cross under I 10 turn right on 27, left on 59 go to the end, turn right on 98 and drive around 9-12 miles to Newport and turn left on 59 going to the lighthouse.

Once you get to Tallahasse at I-10 take the ramp left and merge onto Capital Circle. Stay on that until Woodville Hwy. Turn left then follow previous directions.(Cut out downtown traffic and lights coming and going.)
