Reel issue

I do quite a bit of fishing in St. Joe Bay for trout, but want to start going out to the reefs off of Mexico Beach. What would the best reel be for this type of fishing, Kings, AJ, Snapper and the occasional Grouper? I am loooking at a Penn 113H is this too small or about right?

That will work great for grouper and amberjack under 30 pounds. For snapper and kings I would seriously consider a calcutta 400 or 700, or a nice spinner like a Penn 6500 or a Shimano Baitrunner 6500. For kings you need to have something with a higher speed ratio like a 4.5:1 or better.

Hey Faceville, I just got a Penn 330 GTI and so far I love it. It handled AJ,s like a charm. Its also a graphite frame and a level wind. It,s on a 7 foot ugly stick. 8) 8)

My vote is Penn 320 or 330 GTI. I have one 320 that is over 15 years old and still going strong. l have moved to the 330 in later years with similiar results
