North Georgia Hike..

Post by Browning Slayer »

Well, since you guys don't see many hills down in the flat land area I thought I would bring some mountains to you. The wife, dogs and I decided to run up and do a small day hike up at "Black Rock" state park (I know, we have a black rock too) which is the highest state park in Georgia and the "Continental Divide" just happens to pass through the middle of it. That was kind of neat. If I took a leak on one side of the mountain it flowed down to you guys and if I took a leak on the other side it went to the Atlantic.. I won't tell you which side I went on.. :-D It was an awesome day but it was "COLD"! Got out of the truck and it was a steady 17 degrees... :o

The mountains off in the distance are Tennesse mountains..

And finally, the Summit!

I've done all of the AT in Ga and I've also completed the Benton Mackeye trail. This was just a day hike to enjoy the views and a good lunch at the CUPBOARD!

Nice up there, but I think I'll wait a couple of months before checking it out again. :D
