Good auto mechanic needed
I inherited an 86’ Isuzu Trooper, about 6 months ago, this truck is in great shape with only 110,000 miles on it. This is a family heirloom that I would like to keep around. I had just done quit a bit of work to it then I blew a head gasket. I need to find a good mechanic that I can work with. I want to purchase the parts and than take the truck to a mechanic for the actual install. Do any of you know someone that I could actually talk to about options, I don’t want to just take it in to any old repair shop. I want to do a few things that are outside what a typical repair shop can or might be willing to do.

This is not me wanting to pull parts off a car in the junk yard and give them to someone to put on mine. I want to use a specific company for new heads, valves, cam and rockers. Another issue with this particular truck is that after market parts are not abundant or reliable so I will be buying directly through Isuzu for gaskets and other parts. I just want to find someone that will work with me. Not looking for cheap I am really looking to do it a little beyond what a typical shop would.
What Wevans said still applies... it will not be easy to find the individual your looking for (imo) but there might be someone out there.
I know a good mechanic. However, I'm sure he would want to deal with his own suppliers. Part of the reason he stands behind his work is the relationship he has with his suppliers. One of your parts breaks... potential for disagreement on accountability was it the part or the installation and who's gonna stand behind it if it was the part...etc. Good luck. Hope you find someone.

"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
