Root Beer

Post by Atticus »

Has this been a productive color for any of you in the Big Bend / NWFlorida area? Specifically on the flats targeting trout with Root Beer-colored plastics such as twin-tailed grubs or DOA TerrorEyz?

I have one buddy who says that it is over-rated and one who calls it his secret weapon?

Any of you guys feel strongly either way?

The dark colored DOA shrimp has been VERY productive for me, but I have yet to boat a keeper on one  . I've caught a ton of shorts on it but I'll keep trying.

Fished a root beer "Gotcha Grub" some this year. Not much luck with it on keeper trout though, and no Reds. The firetail would be the key this year in the dark water.
