Platform works well as camera mount and shade on the really hot days. platforms are highly over rated in their usefulness and I have concedered taking mine off.

Platform also makes a great high drive for the kids at the Cold Hole.

It's also a good spot to sit a cold coors light while you're fishing

It also provides a great handle to use while removing debris from your prop.
