Wakulla Beach Wade Fishing

Post by CaptDick »

Hi Guys,
First post on this board. Lots of good info available here. I read the article about wade fishing at Wakulla Beach and thought I might give it try over the 4th of July weekend. I was wondering if the bottom was pretty firm or on the soft side? What lures would work best in the area or would live bait be better? Is there an inexpensive place to stay near by that might still have a vacancy? Any info would be appreciated. Really enjoy the site and hope to fish the Big Bend soon. :)

The bottom is very soft in places. It is best to hit it on a rising/high tide. I would be willing to bet anything near the coast will be full on the weekend of the 4th. You can stay in Tally and you are only about 45 minutes away.

You could try the Wakulla Lodge. http://www.wakullacounty.com/wakulla-24.htm
They usually fill up pretty far in advance but you might get lucky.
