Started fishin at daylight around the trusses, 15 minutes later there is a roar in the air

and I know it's a bass tourney day

most shoot by but two stop at the trusses with me

I decide ta give em some room "aint catchin nothin no how" and move across the river to a point that everyone shot on past

third cast a 2#er

"they get crank up", as they idle by me, I get a 3#er

they say somethin and haul butt

move over to the point on the island and get another 2#er, nest cast hook a nice un and loose it

see a commotion in the water in the channel and throw into it, missed him, missed another, finally land one, another 2#er "it was a school of bass passing through

throw back to the point and land another 2#er

throw to the other side of the point and hook the bigun again

and loose the bigun again

that pretty much ended the day
Started out at the same place again this morning, caught a keeper "barely" next to the island, fished all over the banks "where ever the wind wasn't trying to knock me down" with nothin else. Run to a creek a couple miles into Crooked river and a tree has fallen over the creek about a thousand foot in

but my boat can zigzag through

first cast on the other side is about a 1 1/2 pounder "looks like a good spot ta go back to"

fish on in about a half mile and there's another tree down and no getting past it

pick up another nice fish right at the tree and call it a day "tired of fighting the wind" all in all a pretty good weekend
