Agents say store employee stole $43,000 worth of goods


An employee of a sporting-goods store was arrested on charges that he stole nearly $43,000 in merchandise and then sold it on E-Bay at a discount, said Phil Kiracofe, Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokesman.

Bradley Carr, 24, of Tallahassee, faces 51 counts of dealing in stolen property, and one count of grand theft. He posted a $25,000 bond from the Leon County Jail.



Here’s what Kiracofe said:

The owner of Kevin's Guns and Sporting Goods, 3350 Capital Cir NE, reported to FDLE he thought Carr had stole had stolen as many as 58 items such rifle scopes and fishing reels-- some valued at $1,500 apiece.

In early February, FDLE agents searched Carr’s home on Atkamire Drive and they found several more stolen items, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Carr was arrested then on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Carr surrendered himself at the Leon County Jail Tuesday night where he was charged with the theft-related crimes.
