Thats about what I normally rig also, been trying to get it down to just four rods, but its not easy. Also, I usually have a rod rigged with a sabiki to catch bait with also. And when it warms up a little more I usually have a rod rigged for spanish macks also.

At least 3. Top water baitcaster, jig or swimming bait on a baitcaster, and a CT on a spinning rig. I usually have a light takcle spinning rig set up as well.

I like to have 2 or three set up when I bass fish as well, depending on where I fish. Its nice to have a secondary lure set up to quickly toss at the fish that swirl, but wont hit the first lure.

4-5. Rigged with baits that work the surface down to the bottom.

Passengers are restricted to 2 rods, more if they fill up the gas tank.

How Many Poles

I generally take 4-5 rods rigged with top water, suspending and diving plugs, a soft plastic and a Cajun Thunder. When cobia or spanish are making their pass through, I'll have another one baited up and drifted behind the boat. I quess the best answer is if you think you have enough bring one more.

I carry 3-4 rods ready and rigged. Murphy loves fishermen and I like to have another as a backup. Most the times I need the backup when the fish are biting best. Depending on what I'm fishing for, as to how I pre-rig the rods, and what rods and reels I will bring. I normally start my mornings with topwater and have other rods rigged with shadtails and jigheads.

One topwater, one with spoon, one with jig, two with CTs for
rodholders, and usually a spare :-D

I usually have 4 but it all depends on how many people are on my boat.
