Do they ever dredge the canal leading out of the St. Marks Lighhouse ramp?

It's not part of the current management plan for the Refuge, last I looked.

That would be a good idea. I turned around and headed over to the fort one time this winter - no water. There was a veritable parking lot out there made of boats waiting to get back to their trailers.

On the way out - past the guard shack - some guy was trailering in a 22+ foot offshore boat. I was going to signal him that he was wasting his time but I couldn't figure out how.

Anyone trying to put a 20+ foot boat in at the light house without checking the tides and winds first deserves to make that 15 mile round trip. If for no other reason, it make the lesson more memerable.
