Rainbow trout still available for fly-fishing in Tallahassee

There's still time to get in on some outstanding rainbow trout fly-fishing right here in Tallahassee.
Local cardiologist Dr. Galt Allee has a special pond stocked with the feisty and extremely tasty fish on his Hiamonee Plantation, just outside of town. Allee said he plans to drain his pond on Sunday, March 18. But until then, it's open to the public for fly fishing.
Allee is the quintessential fly fisherman. He pursues his passion 60-65 days a year in the U.S. and around the world. He put the pond in so he (and others) can continue fly fishing through the cold, winter months.
Initially, Allee put in a bass pond to experiment with maintaining a healthy fish population. That being perfected, he turned his attention to trout.
The trout pond has aerators, feeders, a well for filling, and a sluice to drain it. “When the water temperature gets near 70 degrees, the trout will stop feeding and starve,â€
