FISHIN ST. MARKS-ROCK GARDEN

Post by FUTCHCAIRO »

THE OLD MAN OF THE SEA , CARL,, AND MY SON DAVID LAUNCHED THE BOAT AT THE LIGHTHOUSE THIS MORNIN, 3-09-07, ABOUT 8 A.M. WENT OUT IN FRONT OF THE LIGHTHOUSE AND TRIED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND NEVER GOT A STRIKE. WE DECIDED TO HEAD TO THE ROCK GARDEN AND TRY THERE. THE ONLY THING WE GOT AT THE ROCK GARDEN WAS 2- 1/2" CHUNKS OUT OF THE PROP. ABOUT SEVERAL HOURS LATER WE HEADED BACK TO THE LIGHTHOUSE AREA, RIGHT AFTER WE SHUT DOWN DAVID CAUGHT A SMALL BLUEFISH, A FEW MINUTES LATER CARL CAUGHT A SMALL BLUE. I HAD THE TAIL CUT OFF OF THE SLURPS THAT I WAS FISHIN BUT I NEVER PUT A HOOK IN A FISH ALL DAY. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY, PLENTY OF SUNSHINE, TIDE RUNNIN PRETTY GOOD BUT VERY LITTLE WIND OUT OF THE EAST. WE DECIDED TO CALL IT A DAY AFTER WE ATE ALL OF THE FOOD WE HAD WITH US. LOADED THE BOAT ABOUT 1 P.M. AND HEADED BACK TO TALLY. THERE WERE ABOUT 15-20 BOAT TRAILERS IN THE PARKIN LOT, I SURE HOPE THEY DID BETTER THAN WE DID.

PA THE OLD MAN OF THE SEA

It wasn't no better at Anky PA. If my wife had not caught a trout, I would not have ate tonite.....

I had one bite all day, a 10 inch trout that got off right at the boat.

She beat me again...... :smt013

Gonna have to look for a new partner I can beat.

Only entertainment was someone called Birddog around Steinhatchee yappin to Cairotrout about somethin' on the VHF. I homed in on his signal, and it was at the fish market.....I assume buying fish.....

The more I know about something, the more I know that I did not know as much as I thought I knew that I knew.
