10 or 12

Post by Ken K »

I am going to spool my Shimano Curados with fresh line for next weeks excursion to Panama City. I've tried 10 and 12 pound Ande on them and both seem to cast equally well. What would you choose? Slightly more line or slightly stronger line?

How heavy of leader. I spooled all mine with 10lb Ande Backcountry, then use a 20lb Flouro leader, works fine here. And sometime 30lb leader.

I've been using the 16# ande in the light green color and been having great success. I have it spooled on my calcutta 250. I have always used heavier line on my bait casters just because when I get those professional overruns, its easier to get them out.

20lb Power Pro, the best of both worlds.
