Thats what you need. You'll get 1 unlock code for the maps/area you want to open.

The chips are nice in that you have all of the maps from LA. to tampa but you can't transfer them to your computer. If you fish a general area I would go with the unlock codes.

Get the computer software. I have the preprogrammed chip. Wish I could move files on and off of my 'puter.

That mapsource software is a great waypoint management tool too, much more user freindly than andren or offshore hunter. If you do alot of offshore fishing that program has a killer bath upgrade as well. Really good for the grounds or other deeper breaks.

I have the chip and can save all of my numbers, routes and tracts to the computer. Only thing I can't do is transfer actual charts to my computer. Garmin also has a cool download at their site that lets you download screen shots from your unit as a .jpg to your computer. I think it's called xImage.

Actually my unlock code gave me all the maps from LA to Tampa and with the new mapsource upgrade "Mapsource Installer" it's even easier to load maps into your GPS.

Go with the software BMAN!!
