Got to the boat ramp at 10:00 AM to find only one truck there. The wind was kicking pretty good, but we decided to head out anyways. Got to the mouth and ran east towards Econfina. Stopped at a favorite spot along the way and started fishing in 3 ft. of water. The bite was slow at first, unlike the wind, but eventually the reds starting hitting live shrimp under a CT. Got the occassional hit with a Rap-X and manged a few short reds and one 19" trout. We stayed in this spot for about 2 hours and manged 11 reds with 3 in the slot. When the bite slowed, we headed to another spot just inside the mouth of the river, but to no avail. Decided to call it a short day and head in with a few nice fish. Sure beat work
TOTAL FOR THE DAY: 11 REDS (14-20")
1 TROUT (19")
NUMEROUS AGGRESIVE PINFISH
Bait of the day was live shrimp. The bite was slow on the plastic.
