keeper trout

New to the area. Tips for finding keeper size trout at St. Marks? Had a good time there Sunday catching hammerheads and catfish on shrimp, but want something to take home.

Welcome to the forum, Ozwater. Everyone else around here would like to get on some keeper trout about now. They seem to be hard to come by. Try going out past the poles (stake line) in a little deeper water, about 6 to 7 feet. Fish a cajun thunder with a 3.5 to 4 ft. leader, with a jig and grub under it. Or try a grub on the bottom. Whatever you try, fish it slow. The trend has been to catch a bunch of shorts to get a few keepers.

Good luck.
