1. The noise didn't appear until after the alarm sounded.
2. The motor ran fine for several hours after running aground.
3. Sound appears to be coming from the powerhead.
4. Clicking is there regardless of RPMs
5. Sound is there all the time.
6. somewhat metallic
7. Prop seems to be moving fine. Haven't checked to see if it's movable with the engine off.
8. Click is there when under load or not.

I went back yesterday and the alarm sounded as soon as the motor started, so it doesn't seem to be an overheat alarm. I checked oil and everything seemed to be adequate. I thought the "clicking" could be something to do with the alarm and the engine dropping down in RPMs as it does when the alarm sounds. Also thought maybe something with the gears?? Click is not loud and wouldn't be noticed by anyone who hasn't listened to boat motors; but, it's definately there.

I guess one of your concerns would be a resolution prior to this weekends NFGFC's "Trash Classic". Even with a warranty situation, that might be pushing it.

If you haven't already tried it, I would remove the engine hood and see if you can more specifically locate the source of the clicking. IE starter, flywheel, solenoid, etc. If your not familiar with your engine see if you can locate a online picture of where stuff is located on your power head.

I know you said the clicking is there regardless of the RPM's but does the clicking (speed) increase or decrease in relation to the throttle?

Chalk, unfortunately warranty went out about this time last year. Couple of guys at the marina looked but weren't sure either. Bud, sound is from up around the flywheel and I would say the clicking does speed up and slow down with RPM's. More concerned about my pocketbook, than the tournament. :smt010 Ah well, gonna call and see who can get me in to take a look.
