1. The noise didn't appear until after the alarm sounded.
2. The motor ran fine for several hours after running aground.
3. Sound appears to be coming from the powerhead.
4. Clicking is there regardless of RPMs
5. Sound is there all the time.
6. somewhat metallic
7. Prop seems to be moving fine. Haven't checked to see if it's movable with the engine off.
8. Click is there when under load or not.
I went back yesterday and the alarm sounded as soon as the motor started, so it doesn't seem to be an overheat alarm. I checked oil and everything seemed to be adequate. I thought the "clicking" could be something to do with the alarm and the engine dropping down in RPMs as it does when the alarm sounds. Also thought maybe something with the gears?? Click is not loud and wouldn't be noticed by anyone who hasn't listened to boat motors; but, it's definately there.
