Thanks Again Guys -

I told him I could wait a while since the boat & motor are at auction at Ebay:
I think the Cash idea would work, however, I will have to wait till I have the ca$h and wait till he is motivated to $ell the motor.

This guy seems "green" as far as selling marine boats & motors. Ebay records indicate he started selling on ebay on 12/2006...

I'm going to adopt a "wait and see" method on this seller and motor.

I had a evinrude that did that, and I spent alot of time on it till I pulled the head and found that one of the pistons had broke a ring and was scuffing the cylinder really bad..ended up tearing it apart, took the power head in and had it rebored and all the cylinders honed and bought a new piston and rings , RR all that, put it back together and it ran fine , that was three years ago and its still going, I no longer own it, but the guy that does swears by it...if I were you, check those pistons....

If you had water in that cylinder, more than likely you blew a head gasket. Again, a compression check will verify that. Good luck with your search for an engine.

Don't know if this will help , but found this on the FS site...
