Update:
Still in a lot of pain. Every time I move I feel bones grinding together.
Tom - are you calling me fat? I like to look at myself as XX Husky.
Gulp juice did not work...
Yes the girl in the helicopter was off the charts fine.
I told my friends that and they said everyone was fine to me while I was doped up. I told them she was special. I am glad you verified it for them. She also wants to go grouper fishing when this is over!
I did not get the flats flyover for new spots, I was busy talking to the good looking girl
We spent all day Monday trying to get an appointment with a surgeon. Finally got one to see me today at 10:00. I was told by my doctor it could be a week before they can schedule the surgery. I told them that was fine but I will need something better that the dilaudid I am currently taking. He said no problem.
I appreciate everyone's posts. I have only met a few of you but I feel like I know everybody.
I can't wait to get back.

I find the best method to help people get over the pain is to get their mind off it.
What about a nice hot gulp juice or turpentine enema.
Dr.s up at the clinic will getter done might take a while to get over but I think they could have put humpty dumpty back together again.

Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

Saw the chopper circle numerous times before putting down andSea Dawg wrote:Well all i can say the helicopter is a big cost like 10120 for 30 min time they charge you round trip but well worth it..Im flew on it Twice from econfina so i know they can find it ..Pinfishking i was there when they flew u out friday you had the same Nurse on the helicopter i did and can vouch for the female nurse she was a fox what do you say ..
figured it was a training flight. Then I saw Sea Dawg driving that way and figured with his extensive experience at flying from Ecofina he had just
called them to pick him up. Later I heard when the great looking
gal got off chopper and said she was looking for someone with a broken leg about ten guys started walking toward her dragging a leg behind them.
One of my neighbors said he would gladly break his leg if she'd come pick him up! His wife heard the comment and I think he spent the night in his truck!
Anyhows...glad you're on the mend!

Update.
Surgery went well last Thursday. I was kept in the hospital until yesterday.
I have 2 incisions. On big one for the fibula repair which took a plate and several screws.
Smaller incision on the inside for ankle repairs. A few screws was what the Doctor said.
I was in a lot of pain after surgery through Sunday. I was on a morphine drip that I could activate every 10 minutes. It helped a little but not enough.
I was given demerol shots on top of the morphine upon request. They were intra muscular injections that hurt like hell. I requested them few and far between.
I am at home now and it does not hurt much unless I get out of the bed. Once I lose the elevation, the pain comes quick and does not go away until I get it elevated again.
I get the staples out and a permanent cast next Monday. I will have another surgery in about 6 weeks to remove hardware.
Looking forward to coming back.

SOOOO, now when they say ya got a few screws loose, they may mean it literally
Glad things went well and hope the pain goes it's on way soon

Re: Did anybody see the helicopter friday evening at Econfina?
Latest update.
I was finally released from the surgeon and therapy in early January. I am/was looking forward to a long awaited grouper trip as soon as the season was back in.
IF IT WASN'T FOR BAD LUCK I WOULD HAVE NO LUCK AT ALL...........................
About 3 weeks ago I was minding my own business, driving down the road headed home when a person in a full sized van decided to come across the road, turn in front of me and leave me no choice but to hit her T Bone style. 45 MPH to 0 MPH in 1 second is no fun. I reactively stood on the brake with my freshly repaired, recently released from the doctor right foot and ankle. You guessed it. Upon impact, no fractrures this time but all the ligaments that were repaired let go.
Now I have the pleasure of another surgery to remove scar tissue from the previous surgery and "screw" everything back together. In 8 weeks I get to have another surgery to remove the hardware........again.
Maybe.....just maybe I will be back in action around June.
I haven't seen the ocean since before October 12 when my original injury occurred but I have not missed a day logging on and reading everyone's posts. I have been back to Econfina just to visit all my friends but I have not been able to get back in the boat yet.
I am looking forward to putting all this behind me and geting back in the mix.

that is some serious bad luck. sorry to hear it. Hope you're back up and fishing soon.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.
