Did anybody see the helicopter friday evening at Econfina?
It was me.
I will keep it short. Should have posted sooner but I have been jacked up on dilaudid all weekend.
I was climbing out of the back of the boat in the parking lot at the campground. I jumped from the second step to the gravel parking lot.
Nasty broken fibula and multiple ankle bones. Foot was flopping around like a rag doll.
Much pain!
Ambulance arrived and decided it was best to call the helicopter to get me to Tallahassee as soon as possible. Someone mentioned "weak pulse in foot".
Doctors at Tallahassee set the bones.....much more pain!
Put a hard cast on and sent me home. I am from Columbus Georgia where we have the Hughston Orthopedic Hospital. I will be meeting with the surgeon first thing this morning to get everything straightned out.
I would like to thank everyone involved. All my friends at the campground stayed with me the whole time I was flat on my back waiting. They kept me covered with bug spray, head on pillows, wet rags, etc. etc.
The ambulance folks were great, the helicopter folks were great, the doctors and nurses at the hospital were very impressive.
I will post a follow up later.

Ouch $$$
Man, sorry to hear about the ending to your fishing trip. Prayers sent your way.
I thought the guy who tore the Yamaha 90 in two, then added the Sea Tow bill had the most expensive Econfina trip, but I believe you may have surpassed that bill.
Hope you are back on the water soon.
