#1, maybe get a good cover and some dock bumpers, and ask them to keep it coverd. Seems as the sun and sinking due to rain would be my biggest concerns.

Anything you do other than letting your dad make up his own mind will be seen as you trying to grab your dad's boat. It is his boat and his decision. Be thankful you get the use of it without payment. If you really have to have a sharp boat, go buy your own.

My 2cents worth. That and a dollar with get you a cup of coffee at Micky Dee's.

Alright, I've gotten just tons of fine advice from you all!

I wanted to let you know that I'm not going to follow any of it.

Just kidding!

Actually, I'm going to work directly with little brother, just me and him. If I can get through to him on how bad it would be to leave it unattended in the lake, then maybe we can reach some common ground.

Dad just wants us to work it out, and we will. I somehow have to lower my expectations.

I'm trying to get over the fear I have of seeing my vacation plans going down the toilet, and that might be one of the hardest things.

Good news is, for those of you who sell boats, I may be in the market for a new or barely used 18'-19' cc bay boat with direct injection power here in the not too distant future

Either go buy your own or quit complaining. As bad as you don't want to hear it, it's his boat to do with as he pleases. You got 3 years of use for less than half the investment, I'd put that in the win column and keep the peace in the family. When it goes to pot you can complain about to your wife & everybody wins.

I think the point is that it is your dad's boat, not yours. If he wants to flip it upside down and drag it down the road, that is his decision, not yours.

If and until he ASKS you for your advice on it, just let it be.

And like others said, if you can't do that, buy your OWN boat!

No recourse unless you own it....just a fact of life! Your situation is the reason more boats are not jointly owned!

Yeah. But, since no one is posting anything new we might as well stir old pots.
