Seriously? Go to the FS forum if you want to insult people.

So what did you mean by the 100 sharks wouldn't reproduce then? I don't need a history lesson. And nobody needs to bring any politics into the discussion. I've fished with many a person like you who guts catfish and sharks when fishing for speckled trout and I just don't see the need in it. And I've fished with the ones who don't even go anymore because of the 5 fish, 15 inch limit (they believe it's not worth going if you can't fill a 120 quart cooler). It doesn't make one a liberal to see the value in any fish that swims in the Gulf. Does the fact that I don't type errors or use slang in my writing make me a liberal?

I've only fished with PA 3 or 4 times but know that each time I've fished with him I've never known him to engage in untoward conduct toward the sport fishery. As for his disdain for sharks I think some men of his generation who are veterans of WW II heard plenty of stories, and might have had several friends, who ended up in the water and had lives cut short by sharks. I think if that had happened to someone I know it might make me less charitable toward sharks also. Maybe PA has some bad history with sharks; whatever the case I know him to be a fine person and I am willing to forgive him. Hokiega, I don't know you; maybe you are a fine gentleman but the tone of your posts leads me to think I might not enjoy fishing with you. I do enjoy fishing with PA though.

PA, nice to know that you get into them. Sounds like a decent day. Like you, I hate fishing the low tide. With the water being shallow and very little tide, I believe the trout have something else in mind, like hiding in the grass so that they will not become dinner for sharks or dolphins. Low tide for me is a good time to fill the livewell with pinfish for the hot bite during incoming tide.

HEY BREAMBUSTER, MOST PEOPLE THAT HAVE NOT HAD THE PRIVALEDGE OF FISHING THE ENTIRE STATE OF FLA., MISS., LOUSIANA. TEXAS, AND ALA. COAST KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU THROW A SHORT TROUT BACK, THAT TROUT MAY MAKE IT 5-10 FT. AFTER IT HITS THE WATER BEFORE A SHARK OR DOLPHIN HAS ALREADY EATEN HIM. IF WE ELIMINATE THE SHARKS WE WILL HAVE MANY SHORT TROUT GROW ON TO MATURITY. I KNOW ONE THING THIS OLD BOY WILL NOT BE DOING ANY SCOLLOPING IN THE BIGBEND AREA.

No, it isn't the fact that you don't have typing errors or use slang words that makes you appear to be a liberal. There are several conservative lawyers, doctors, and professional businessmen on the board who don't either (though my own .02 is that grammar is sure a poor tool for measuring a man's heart/values/morality) ... it's much more the smarmy "I don't need a history lesson" comment to an experienced audience, and this from a new member with only 5 posts to date. Doesn't help you're attacking a well-liked member almost 3 times your senior.
Regardless of empirical data or personal beliefs, it’s legal to kill various sharks off our shoreline unless you're finning or filleting them. And I'm not arguing the point because I kill them... with the exception of a solitary blacktip I've kept to eat, I don't kill them. This said, I highly doubt PA killed any Bigeye Sixgill Shark, Bigeye Thresher Shark, Bignose Shark, Caribbean Reef Shark, Dusky Shark, Galapagos Shark, Longfin Mako Shark, Narrowtooth Shark, Night Shark, Sevengill Shark, Sixgill Shark, Smalltail Shark, Basking Shark, Whale Shark, White Shark, Sand Tiger Shark, or Bigeye Sand Tiger Shark, but if he did and you can prove it you could then kindly mention these are protected shark species. Until then, might want to tread just a bit more lightly and try making some friends amongst the forum members. By and large, the forum is comprised of a great bunch of folks.

WELL THEE OLD MAN FINALLY GOT A FISHIN TRIP TO THE GULF.
I Greatly miss my pa,, wish I could take a few more fishin trips with him as he had the patience and knowledge to teach any youngster to enjoy nature,, but, when it came to the sharks, his idea was," how many people are fishing for trout, reds, etc.. vs how many are fishing for sharks" there are just way to many of those sharky pests... We also used to gut em and let em go, now its just a big whop to the head with a club.."no need to let em suffer" he would say!!
either way, it gets the job done..
I have not been a member very long on this site, and was really enjoying the comradery of the fine folks here.
Really hate to see people bash others and try to start family feuds, as there is already enough of this kind of behavior in our daily lives..
Wish I could of been on that trip on that pontoon boat too...

Damn boy, I don't know where you come from, but you need to get the hell out of Valdosta or quit telling people you are from my home. We don't raise azzholes like you there.

No, its the fact that you think you know everything, you generalize someone who disagrees with you with belitting statements and have a need to share your opinion with a group of people who really don't give a shitz about what you have to say that tells us that you are a liberal.
Pa, for the City of Valdosta, I apologize. Unfortunately, we need tighter immigration controls.

PA, I, too, appreciate your reports - and your contributions.

My dad is 89 and in fairly good health. He's the one gave me the fever for sport fishing as a boy and although a lot has changed over the years, I still get excited everytime something tugs on my line.

I am glad you are able to go make memories right on and hope you can for a long while yet. Thanks for the tide info on the other thread too.

You keep'em coming.
As far as Hokiega goes......maybe one day he'll loose the attitude. Till then, just got to love'em.

I will admit though.... even as a newbie, I'll agree with sanblas - I think they would love Hokie on FS!

Good grief boy....verbally attacking the respected patriarch of this clan is a very stupid move. My suggestion....or what I can put in writing and not be censored....is to crawl back
under a rock or go play on FS where there are more than enough like you to entertain each other. Also, please don't ever mention being from Valdosta again as it embarrasses me
as a SW Georgian and reflects poorly on the articulate Mr. MudDucker. You want to get it on with someone I've got a thick skin so bring it!
