FISHIN ECONFINA

Post by FUTCHCAIRO »

WELL THEE OLD MAN FINALLY GOT A FISHIN TRIP TO THE GULF. THERE WERE 4 OF US OUT AN A NEW PONTOON BOAT. TWO OF US USED ARTIFICIAL BAITS, THE OTHER TWO USE CUT BAIT. THE FIRST TIME IN MY LLIFETIME THE CUT BAIT BOYS CAUGHT MORE FISH THAN THE ARITFICIAL. I MANAGED TO CATCH A TOTAL OF 6 TROUT WITH ONE KEEPER, SEVERAL LADIES, HARDHEAD CATS, ROCK BASS. ALL TOGETER WE HAD 9 KEEPER TROUT WITH 4 OF THEM RIGHT AT 20 IINCHES, CAUGHT MANY,MANY SHARKS, LADIES, HARDHEAD CATS AND ROCK BASS. THE WIND WAS ABOUT 10-15 OUT OF THE S.E. TURNING TO ALMOST CALM AND EXTREMELY HOT BY ABOUT 2 P.M. MOST OF THE KEEPER FISH WERE CAUGHT FROM DAYLIGHT UP TO ABOUT 11 A.M. FISHING WAS VERY SLOW DOWN TO LOW TIDE AND THE START OF THE INCOMNG WHEN WE LEFT ABOUT 4 P.M.
I HAVE ABOUT COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT I HAVE FORGOTTEN HOW TO FISH, BEING OUT ON THE FLATS THAT LONG AND FISHING THE WHOLE TIME ALL OF US SHOULD HAVE HAD A LIMITS OF TROUT AND REDS. I FORGOT TO MENTION WE ALSO HAD 2 KEEPER REDS.

9 trout and 2 reds sounds like a nice dinner.

Glad you got out PA; thanks for the report.

YEA WEVANS, IT WAS ACTIVE FIRST THING AFTER DAYLIGHT BUT BY 11 A.M. THE BITE WAS FEW AND FAR BETWEEN ON THE TROUT BUT THE SHARK ATTACK WAS ON FOR ABOUT THE REST OF THE DAY. I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THESE PEOPLE SAYING THE SHARK POPULATION IS BECOMING EXTENCT, THEY HAVE NOT BEEN OUT ON THE WATER AROUND ECONFINA LATELY.

Thanks for the report PA! Nothing like a mixed bag to keep things exciting and you are so correct about the sharks!!!!!!!

Like Sir Reel, I now feel safe going out of Anky this weekend in the early am during those dangerous low tides.

EARL, did you use your special topwater plugs and call up the trout? I remember the time you took me out from Econfina and when the bite got slow you talked the trout into getting with the program. I still have fond memories of that trip. And I KNOW how you just love the sharks.

HEY BUD, I WAS NOT THE CAPT. OF THIS RIG, IT BELONGS TO A FRIEND OF MINE AND THIS WAS THE FIRST TRIP. THE LADIES TORE ALL OF THE PAINT OFF ALL THREE MIRROLURES I HAD LEFT, THEY ALSO ATTACKED ANY THING YOU THREW AT THEM. WHEN WE LAUNCHED, WHICH WAS AN HOUR BEFORE DAYLIGHT, THERE WAS PLENTY OF WATER IN THE RIVER AND THE FLATS, WE STILL HAD 4 HOURS TO LOW TIDE.
O.D. THERE ARE NOT AS MANY TROUT DOWN AT ECONFINA AS THERE USE TO BE, WE ONLY CAUGHT ABOUT 25-30 SHORT TROUT,, I LOST COUNT ON THE SHARKS AFTER 100, I DO NOT THINK THOSE 100 WILL REPRODUCE ANYMORE.MOST OF THE SHARKS WERE CAUGHT ON CUT BAIT BUT I CAUGHT MY SHARE WITH A RED HEAD JIG ON ELECT. CHICKEN. I THOUGHT THAT THOSE PONTOON BOATS WOULD BE REAL STABLE BUT I FOUND OUT DIFFERENT, THAT THING ROCKED AND ROLDED THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE, EVEN WHEN THE WIND WAS CALM THAT THING STILL DID THE ROCK AND ROLL.
SEE YALL LATER,
EARL

COME TO THINK OF IT BUD, THAT S.E. WIND MIGHT HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HIGHER THAN NORMAL WATER LEVELS IN THE RIVER AND THE FLATS.

What does "I do not think those 100 will reproduce anymore" mean? You took a knife to their stomachs I suppose? You wonder why "there are not as many trout down at Econfina as there used to be." It's because morons like you killing fish that you can't drown in grease and feed all your friends. You probably grab your short trout with a rag and wear their slime coat out so they die too. Stay home so fisherman like myself and others with ethics can enjoy themselves you Ga. idiot. Yeah, I'm from Georgia too.

WELL MR HOKIEGA, I WOULD GUESS YOU MIGHT BE A TRANSPLANTED YANKEE FROM THE WAY YOU MADE YOUR POST. I KNOW ONE THING ( YOU DO NOT KNOW ME) IF YOU DID YOU WOULD NOT MAKE THE STATEMENT CALLING ME A GA. IDIOT. I AM 87 YRS. OLD BUT I CAN STILL BEAT THE HELL OUT OF A LITTLE SNOT RAG LIKE YOU. I HAVE SAVED MORE FISH THAN YOU WILL EVER CATCH. I CAN STILL REMEMBER WHEN THE FED.. GOVERNMENT PAID JAPANESE FISHER MEN TO COME OVER TO FLA AND THE EAST COAST TO SEIN FOR SHARKS, LONG LINE SHARKS TO GET RID OF THEM. THERE WERE SO MANY SHARKS PEOPLE WOULD NOT COME TO FLA TO SPEND THE SUMMER AT THE BEACH. YOU NEED TO GET A LITTLE EXPERIENCE BEFORE YA START SPOUTING OFF ON A FORUM, LIKE THIS.

Slow down Pa. Watch your blood pressure. You know these liberals do not understand that if it was not for us they would have no fish now. They would have given them all to the people who can not or will not fish.
WHOSE FISH IS IT?
