If someone is swinging from the fans, you need to post it up on youtube for all to enjoy. Well, let me limit that, I don't think we need pictures of JT's trained nanny swinging on a fan! :smt005

I appreciate all of the feedback. I definitely appreciate the importance of well grounded appliances. The fan in question has zero pull chains, and I think I would need to take the fan down to get the ground situation resolved. Maybe while it's down I will search the junction box for the extra switch wires and look into that also. I think the smart choice might be to just replace the fan as others have suggested.

here's a little tip to test remote controls if they are infrared remotes.
use your cell phones camera and hold the remote up to the camera's lens and press the remotes buttons while looking into the cameras view screen..
you should see the remote emitting light signals through the camera.
too many remote controls to keep up with.. get the pull chain fans.. recommend the Hunter line.

hunter has, or had lifetime warranty on their fans
