Has my thread been derailed or what! :-D

In an effort to get it a bit back on the tracks, my original intent truly was to find out ANY tips/tricks to lessen clogging. Have appreciated that the most voiced tip is running engine lower (get under the floating surface grass) and as I mentioned in the original message I have noticed it seemed to help so sure sounds like that's one thing to do when the grass is thick.

I also asked if any mechanical/engineering/setup tricks could be tried and one reason I asked was I have one friend who thinks he might, emphasis on might, have had less issues since adding a hyrdofoil... sure not saying I know, but do wonder if it could make a difference/anyone else having added a hydrofoil noticed a difference.

Also wondered if tilting the engine versus dropping it further down alone would change the flow to lessen the clogging. Understand it will change the ride, but just seems giving it a lower angle than a flat 90 might help it be pulled into and past the prop...

Fully appreciate staying out of the grass is always the goal but this time of year mighty lot of isolated blades just floating around, and it doesn't seem to take but a few blades to cause a problem so really was looking for prescription setup tips if any worked well for others and at least take a bit of solace I'm not alone in trying to tackle the problem.

Past two months I have learned a surefire way to avoid the problem... work long hours and leave the boat on the trailer... :smt010
