Ok. I think I found what you guys need to read. You are both right. Read this months florida sportsman, there is a big article about shallow water grouper fishing in the middle of the magazine. They state that there are fish that live on inshore rock piles/ledges all year long, but in addition they add that there is a large population of grouper that move inshore in the wintertime, november, december, january and then move back offshore when the water temps drop drastically........just relaying info...dont shoot the messenger.....

If'n any of the popcorn-eating spectators look for this to be solved in a sentence or two, you might want to read the 89 page linked document... And JT, if you think some of my posts show evidence of drinking when the words get flowing, guy who wrote this must have been doing some SERIOUS binge drinking! :drnk_1

Joking aside, some very good info in the report, but I'm not going to summarize it... want to learn more about grouper, read it yourself. :smt023

I read as much as I could stand of the report.
My synopsis of the report is Gag grouper are territorial.........to a point.
Therefore, my evaluation of grouper is........pppfffttt!!!.
Now, trout on the other hand seem to favor all my holes.
Sometimes.
