Ive never had braid spin on my arbors. But now I am thinking there might be one wrap of electrical tape on them... No good way to check...

Carry on.

Atticus has it right on this one. Kevins will do a much better job of spooling with braid using their machine than we can do winding it on with a spinning reel. When they use the machine, it doesn't put the twist in the line that the reel does. Miles gets in on nice and tight. And yes, you will walk out with more line paying less than you would if you picked up a spool at Wally world. Also, I'm not sure why, when I fill the spool completely with line, I get occasional wind knots until I get a little line off the spool. Then never get knots. So in turn, don't fully spool the reels. I use 10# power pro, and can get plenty on my reels, with a little backing. A lot of responses and advice on this one, good luck wading through it and figuring it out.

Like said already, Your casting distance is going to depend on many factors, Your line type and weight, lure weight, reel type and size, rod rating and length, rod guides, and your casting skills just to name a few.... If you spool your line on the reel correctly, I don't think it matters who does it... I'll say this... I never have liked braid too much because of of how soft it is, most float and I got an occasional rod tip or lure wrap... but I just bought some of the new braid with gore and after making several casts in the pasture, I can say I get a LOT more distance and because it's more rigid than braid without the gore fiber, I don't think I'll have the problems I used to have.... Power pro and the other braid manufacturers had better come out with a similiar product if they expect to compete...
