we landed over 50 snook each day and most were in the 5-7 lb range. we always catch a lot, but this year we caught a lot and they were ALL good size. first day was friday. we started off catching snook, jacks including this one (around 12 lbs) and a huge fish we thought was a redfish in a school of around 2000 big bull fish, but the more i look at it the more it looks like a black drum. it was very red however along with the rest of the school. either way, it was 20 lbs 14 oz which is HUGE for either fish. notice the shark that got the fish right after i fell in the water on top of the fish trying to net the fish for steven.

we limited on trout (all over 18 inches) on friday in about an hour. then went and caught more snook.

then the storms rolled in and i decided to take steven on a little backcountry tour. i think he was impressed.

saturday was a repeat with my friend alex joining us from ft. lauderdale and three of us catching over 50 snook and total hookups close to 75 snook. we also tried for some very big tarpon that had been rolling around hooked up on one big one and a very big shark. no pics of these two beast that were photo shy.

sunday was another amazing day with us catching around 40 snook, jumping a HUGE tarpon in the 100 lb class (he came completely out of the water before throwing the bait and he was big) limiting out on trout and catching a nice mess of mangrove snapper. we also went out about five miles or so and found huge schools of permit breaking the surface but could not get them to hit anything. finishing out the day with a beautiful everglades sunset. we were going to fish monday, but steven was just too sore to fish anymore. just kidding. we were both sore from all the fish we had caught. so we called it a trip and what a great one it was.

at the end of the day, it is all about YOUR FRIENDS, THE FISHING, AND A BEAUTIFUL PLACE THAT GOD CREATED.
