Tarpon Fishing around Steinhatchee

I have been trying to tarpon fish around Steinhatchee for the past couple weeks. Been on the flats south of the river and seen tarpon but have not been to catch one.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find them on the flats????

I have caught tarpon in the river using plugs and mullet but none this year.

Welcome km. Seems like you may have the heads up already, more so than others of us on the forum. If you have already targeted them in the Steinhatchee area and caught one I would say you;ve got more experience than most. People jump them in the Big Bend area but its usaually while troutfishing, not targeting them as in S.W, Fl or the the Panhandle where you can sight fish for them. IMHO.
