TBA tournament 6/14/06

Post by rocket »

Fished the Tallahassee Builders Association tournament yesterday. It was ROUGH!!! We went to 100' of water, and got our a$$es beat.
We caught 3 or 4 limits of red grouper, but the biggest was only 8.5 lbs.
Also caught 5 or 6 red snapper :lick: , and a few barely legal black grouper.
We weighed in 45-46 lbs. I think we came in second to last place (however it looked like a lot of teams didn't weigh in).
It was a tough day of fishing. After talking to others at the weigh in, most never went out past 60', and a lot of folks came in early. My friend chartered a boat, and they ran SW to 250', and only produced one red grouper!
Had a great time even with the seas being so rough. We were on a 28' boat and still felt it!
Come on supper time. I'll be frying up some red snappers :lick: :lick: with some cold   .

Make no mistake, I'm an inshore man. I like my two or three trips a year to the deep stuff, then days like yesterday remind me why I enjoy hauling in redfish instead of red groupa. :-D
