C-Belle 7/26, 7/28

Post by Reel Fun »

A sad 2 days off shore.....7/26- went SW 73ft regular honey hole, only managed 2 keeper snapper, 1 nice trigger. Also tried C tower, came back to 65 ft, 55 ft....nada, current was extemely strong all day. A guide at the mornings said he also had a very slow day(made me feel a little better). 7/28- went S-SE 65ft honey hole...nada, then hit bryson reef..75-80 ft got 6 big hits (bottom fishing) drifting different areas, stand up rods, bent completely double....did not get a single one in the boat. A third of the way up....then back into the "stuff" and break off :smt010 , 2 other spots, 60-65ft...1 snapper, lost 2 kings :-? .....both days fished with mostly live pin fish (had plenty), squid, ly's..did not catch(put in the boat) a single grouper..short or otherwise  Never did this poorly....I have heard 100ft+ is where to go....I truely enjoyed both days with family and a good friend.

I have heard 100ft+ is where to go

That is correct...or just short of it. Very few gags out there though. Definitely some nice Reds making the ride home.
